Hey y’all,

‍New digs again! Thanks to Stay Green Brewing in Farmingdale for opening up early.

Pairings

‍Key Lime Mindgold (right?) and Hibiscus Tea

‍Our next Sunday Funday Book Club meetup is September 20 at 10-noon at TBA. We are reading Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt by Ben Reeves.

Side hustle listen: Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt by Moby

Side hustle read and watch: Slaughterhouse-Five(1969 book by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. and 1972 film)

Wrap-up of your discussion of Hot Desk

‍This book is really four books in one. A book about the 80s would have been the best. The Lion is gross—Wolf of Wall Street meets Richard Branson meets Hemingway. So many characters! The cactus is a bit nonsensical. We wouldn’t read a sequel, but this one turned out okay.

Quote of the Discussion

‍‍“This could have had more smut—and your name is Dickerman. Come on!”

Game of the Month

‍We played The Lion, The Witch, OR The Wardrobe.

‍Everyone won because it’s pretty easy guessing. Turns out everyone knows a lot about witches and wardrobes, and process of elimination works.

Other places where you can find me:

Sukha Backyard Book Club is reading Saltwater Buddha for September 26th’s meetup. Details on the studio website.

‍ Walk 2 End Alzheimer’s is in October. Details here

‍I’m still teaching yoga on Tuesdays at 7:15-8:15 at Sukha Studio—you can find all the dates on my calendar. I’m also writing on-the-spot poems at some more private events in the next few months; if you want me to come to anything to type or write poems, drop me a line. It’s super fun!

Our Future Meetups

Everything is here. Keep checking in with Nikki and me about venues. Also, we added a December meetup so we can read Dungeon Crawler Carl. Then mark your 2027 calendars for not only January’s film screening but also for Milkfarm February.

If you have book suggestions, please send them my way, including suggestions for January’s watched a movie based on a book. Of course, you can share this email and/or the links. Surely, invite whomever you wish to book club. No one needs to finish the book (and I may not if the library reserve list doesn't dwindle down soon). Hope to see you at our future book meetups. Bring your appetite for snacks, sips, and conversation.
