Hike Around And Write (or Whatever)

Hike Around And Write (or Whatever)

YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE WITH Walt Whitman Birthplace Association TO PARTICIPATE. LINK COMING SOON.

Join WWBA and me...it’s time for the creatives to head into the wilderness! (As in marked trails in a park where bathrooms are nearby). Grab your hiking/walking gear and your writing/drawing instruments for a fun as-long-as-you-wish meet up.

We will read some of Whitman's nature poetry to get inspired and do some creating. Then we'll hike up to the top of the hill where we will find even more Whitman inspiration to write about (or draw or dance). Then we'll come on back for a final round of creating or sharing.

Bring a lunch to stay longer if you want to picnic afterwards.

Note: I am scared of bugs and bears, so if you’re unsure about heading out into nature, if I’m ok with it, you probably will be, too.

We'll hike, take a writing break, hike back, and then write again. We can share if time allows. Bring your own snacks, plenty of water, and dress appropriately (long pants and/or high socks are strongly recommended).
