November ‘25 Sunday Funday Book Club Follow Up

Hey y’all!

Nikki’s Pairings—

Naughty Girl IPA
Wild Bill Rocket Pop (N/A)

Our next Sunday Funday Book Club meetup is tentatively January 18 maybe at 6 PM possibly at the Bayville movie theatre. If we can plan this, then the book we’ll read is A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman and the movie we’ll watch on a big screen is A Man Called Otto.

**Keep an eye out for more information!**

In the meantime, get your fill of book club in December:

12/11 at Threes, 7 PM: Black Magic

12/14 at Lithology, 1 PM: Saga

Wrap-up of your discussion of Jerks: What is this book about? What’s the throughline? Yes, jerks, but also, orgies? Who are these people? Is this high brow?

Quote of the Discussion

“Why are we breastfeeding the neighbor?”

Game of the Month

We played Name That Jerk. Obviously. If you missed the game, here’s a smattering:

Is jerktown:
Water stop on a railroad line
Post depot for the Pony Express
Early skiing village for the rich

Is Bjerknes
Norwegian physicist (Vilhelm Frimann Koren Bjerknes)
Microscopic organism found in flora
Attitude of aloofness

Here's the soundtrack you created:

Reading Recs

Fantasma by Kayla Smith

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Watching Recs

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (Netflix)

Rear Window
