9/3 All Good Things
Hi everyone,
My mom is home! I have a new car! The tech doesn’t work! At least the mom thing and the transportation thing have been remedied. Now I’ll rely on paper maps when I drive.
A friendly reminder: If you’d like to support Team J and J with a donation and/or with some words to cheer us on as we gear up for the Walk 2 End Alzheimer’s, you can do so here: http://act.alz.org/goto/christinamrau
And now—
THINGS HAPPENED
I went to Chinatown and had my aura photo taken. Lots of good energy! Speaking of good energy, book club--always a good time as a good time was had by all.
WELLNESS CORNER
The Thursday swaps at Sukha are done, so I’m back to teaching regularly on Tuesdays at 5:45 week. When I’m not doing yoga, I may be doing cardio. I found Christina Dorner on the YouTube, and if you enjoy dogs, you may enjoy her workouts since her dogs make an appearance every time.
KUDOS!
Heidi Kasa won Digging Press’s chapbook prize for the flash fiction collection The Beginners, which is forthcoming this Fall, and her poetry collection The Bullet Takes Forever is out now!
Lesley Younge, Donna Smith, and David P. Kozinski took first, second, and third places in the 2025 Crossroads Contest!
Hiram Larew was highlighted by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County!

MISCELLANY
The AMC app now states that the movie begins 25-30 minutes after the listed time. When we went to see The Fantastic Four, we got there a few minutes before the listed start time to find that one of our seats was broken. We went back to the lobby and asked if we could change seats; we could, as the rest of the row was empty. About ten minutes went by, and the screen was still blank, no audio, and no A/C. We were already the “change the seat” people, so I didn’t want to also be the “is the movie starting?” people, but five minutes later, we became that, and it’s a good thing because, I don’t know what happened, but somehow they’d forgotten about us. Someone came in, apologized, and said they were going to start the movie and skip the previews. A few minutes later, a preview for Avatar came on.
The moral of the story: James Cameron rules the world.
All good things,
Christina
